Some of you have written me asking for ideas to turn off those screens after school. You wanted a tool that could keep your child away from ipads and TV for a while.
The “creative table” or “creative provocation” is a tool widely used in Montessori and Reggio Emilia schools. It is perfect to develop children’s imagination and creative thinking. It is particulary good for perfectionist children because there are no instructions or a “right way to do it” and any idea or approach is valid.
Did you know this tool? Have you ever used it? Which kind of stimuli did you lay on the table? What ideas came out of them? I’d love to know, don’t forget to share your experience below.
