Summer has arrived and, as every year, it’s time for a new challenge.
Two years ago we learned together how to draw our eyes off of the screens and look at the world in a different way. That’s how #eyebombing was born.
Last year marked the boom of WhatsApp in classrooms. It was time to promote autonomy and independence in our kids, and so came #retrosummer2015.
The challenge for this year appeared in my head a few months ago, when I shared this video on my channel. In a few days my email was filled with dozens of messages. There were stories of mothers that do all they can so their kids can reach their dreams, but who had forgotten about their own. Mothers that amid thousands of priorities don’t know who they are anymore or what they are worth. Mothers who don’t have time to learn and improve, because the perfectionism that surrounds us compels them to give their all at work, with their children and at home.
So this summer I invite you to choose your personal #SuperReto (SuperChallenge). Take up that hobby you’ve left behind or throw yourself towards that which you’ve always wanted to learn. 3 months. 90 days. Prove to yourself that if you want you can do it. Be an example of perseverance and determination for your kids and, above all, enjoy yourself.
Cultivate your passion and your kids will cultivate their own. Relax, have fun trying new things and your children will learn to do the same.
And since you already know I wouldn’t ask you to do something I haven’t done first, here you have my #SuperReto. 90 days learning something I’ve always wanted, from scratch. Was it difficult to find the time? Yes. Did I feel like abandoning the process? Sure. But I made it. And that’s why I’m convinced you can too:
And you – what are you going to learn?
Tell me about it using #SuperReto.
I’m convinced that when things need to happen destiny helps us by giving us a little of its part. Right when the concept of #SuperReto was born my friend Antonio Sañudo presented me with the Rafiki Bora team. A small NGO, but with a huge heart.
Their mission is to provide schooling for the kids of the Mukuru slum in Nairobi.
Kids that dream with learning, but don’t have the means.
Together we’ve created #SuperReto bracelets. Get yours this summer to remind yourself of the commitment you have with yourself. All profits (thanks to the generosity of the Tipitoo team) go towards Mukuru children’s education. You can buy them at La Mar de Letras or at La Librairie
